The 66th Festival of Sport (FOS) – the annual mega-sports event organized by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department is now officially launched. Inspiring healthy sporting activity in the post-pandemic era, SF&OC will be organizing a series of diverse physical activities in conjunction with various National Sports Associations (NSAs) during FOS, bringing an enhanced sports experience to the public! Let’s "Joint Exercising with Joy and Excitement" from now until June!

SF&OC is committed to promoting "Sport for All" through FOS by organizing a wide variety of activities alongside NSAs to encourage active public participation, thereby broadening their experience and understanding of sports. This year, FOS will hold a series of action-packed activities including competitions, fun days and sports demonstrations, covering a wide variety of sports. Among them, 5 enhanced events, namely "Hong Kong Softball Carnival", "The 5th Motorsport Festival", "Kids Handball Promotion Fun Day", "Summer Indoor Rowing Festival" and "Family Sports Games 2023", will be held in May and June. The events will bring diverse sports experiences to members of the public, including sports enthusiasts, sports novices, parents and children, as well as teenagers.

Additionally, to strengthen interactions with the public, top tournament medalists CHAN Wai Ho (Football), Lisa CHENG (Sport Climbing and Bodybuilding), and Cythia LOK (Motorsport) have been appointed by SF&OC as the 66th FOS Ambassadors. They will be joining various FOS activities, engaging the public and sharing their experiences in sports, as well as encouraging the community to resume exercising after the pandemic.

Mr. Ronnie M.C. WONG, Chairperson of FOS Organizing Committee, said, "This is the year for sports events to start afresh. The theme of this year’s FOS is 'Joint Exercising with Joy and Excitement'. We hope that through a broad array of activities, members of the public will be encouraged to actively embrace a sporting life and pick up new sporting habits, in building a healthier lifestyle after the pandemic. At the same time, we also anticipate that, through the promotion of FOS, the public will have a deeper understanding of the many and varied NSAs and sports events. We hope they will be inspired to challenge themselves by trying sports that they may never have experienced before in exploring new sporting possibilities for themselves and their families.
